Zbigniew Dlubak, heir of the avant-garde, exhibition
From Wednesday, January 17 2018 to Sunday, April 29 2018
An artistic world to discover.
In the post-war period Zbigniew Dlubak (1921-2005) was one of the driving forces behind profound changes in the Polish arts scene. A great experimenter in photographic forms, he was also a painter, an art theorist, teacher and editor of the magazine Fotografia for more than 20 years.
Although Dlubak was primarily known as a photographer, he initially wanted to become a painter, constantly in search of drawing materials during the war. Very active in these two traditionally separate fields, he greatly influenced the decompartmentalisation of artistic forms. He also defended the right of photography to exist as a completely separate discipline.
This exhibition is an opportunity to discover or rediscover the multifaceted universe of this artist.
